"The Men from U.N.C.L.E." are on this occasion on the hunt for the German scientist, Dr. von Kronen, and even though their attempt to capture him fails in dramatic circumstances, they establish his connection to the criminal organisation named Thrush. Thus the search leads to their leader, Louis Strago, who owns a vineyard in Sicily but is really working together with Dr. von Kronen on a terrible plan: divert the Gulf Stream to Greenland using atomic bomb explosions...

...thereby converting the country into a sub-tropical area from which Thrush can achieve world supremacy while Europe and America are transformed into ice wastelands. Yet Napoleon Solo and Illya Kuryakin are on the trail. While working in Sicily fighting breaks loose, and Napoleon Solo has to hide under the bed of a lovely Sicilian throughout the entire night! However, they are discovered by her grandmother who then in accordance with the island's tradition, armed with a rifle, demands that Napoleon Solo marries the girl. As is well known, marriage is not Napoleon Solo's favourite dish and he succeeds in escaping the first time. But then the grandmother mobilises the rest of the family, the three Stiletto brothers, dangerous gangsters now enjoying retirement. For the sake of family honour they are willing to go back into business. Thus this affair becomes even more complex for Napoleon Solo and Illya Kuryakin. Solo is for the second time forced into the role of groom, yet manages to escape yet again as Strago and his people interrupts it.

After a shoot-out Strago wins, and he takes Kuryakin and the young girl with him to the island where the bombs are to be detonated. In return, Napoleon Solo joins forces with the Stiletto brothers to stop Strago. The final showdown takes place on the island over a number of stages, and where Strago's beautiful secretary, Miss Diketon, who by the way is a blood-thirsty knife-thrower, changes sides. Thus, she plays a significant role when Napoleon Solo and Kuryakin launch the final attack against the criminals.
